The randomized controlled trial “C-EASIE” demonstrated that early administration of vitamin C (within 6 h of admission) resulted in reduced organ dysfunction among high-risk patients (SOFA ≥ 6), although the overall effect was not statistically significant.
The trial showed no harm at all. Furthermore it did show significant results for the most severe patients including a lower probability of being on renal replacement therapy in the vitamin C group
